A New Comission - Plus Some Oldies from the Vault

Next up:    This year (2013) has found old art of mine turning up online that I no longer own, following are some old pieces that I have either recently scanned or found again via a friend.
First, below is a jam page by das ubuibi of BCO and I that turned up recently, I hadn't seen it in 15 years or so. Ink and mixed media on board, circa 1993. I did the deer leg and bottom of the page, das did the caption and upper background. I'm hoping to get a higher-res version of this.

Below is a 4x6 inch card done for an Auricular Records cassette package, 1991.

A Big City Orchestra cassette cover, circa 1991-92 or a bit earlier. Not a great scan, but the only copy I believe I have of it at the moment. I'm endeavoring to get a higher-res version.

Bill with Cassette, circa 1989,  my scan. This may already be in this online gallery, but anyhoo here it comes again. I saw this year online that someone had used just Bill's hand and the cassette as part of some art for another cassette label's product, and indeed, it is my favorite part of this old piece.

Here is a nice multi-pass color xerox print of a BCO t-shirt design, circa 1993. Printed onto sticky-backed stock. There are a few more old BCO stickers to follow ---

'K7 vs. Vinyl' / color version of a 1988 drawing.

'W.T.B.N.' logo, color sticker version, 1992. At the time, the phrase was coined for a series of live gigs that tied in with the Big City Orchestra organization.

And another variation on the WTBN sticker campaign. The kanji character I drew is (loosely) for the word 'noise', I believe.

Here we have a scan of das' that turned up of the original art for a poster I did in the late 1980s for his radio show.

And, lastly today, some photos surfaced this year of a large cardboard figure that I made for a friend in 1980. He received a knock on the front door, looked out his window and saw Frank, here, looming outside. Acrylic on cardboard. I was impressed that he had kept it so intact after all of these years! We see him dressed for the Holidays on the right.

"Everest" Album Cover / WFMU Article Illustration

Illustration commission for an online article. Depicts an imaginary Beatles lp cover: What Abbey Road might have looked like if they had stuck with the original tentative title, "Everest".  Created with different papers cut and collaged together, and a little bit of crayon and ink rendering on top.

The final result, in its frame. I want to do more multi-panel paintings; next time I'll have dialogue and a story to link the panels. I'm stoked, though, to have had the ultraviolet Pooh picture work out so well.
